Blood, Sand and Smoke

Every once in a while, the right ingredients and conditions combine and you have an example of a stroke of genius. This is one. In an attempt to level-up a Blood And Sand, I hit upon a recipe that is unbeatable. You have to see this.

  • 1 oz. Lagavulin 16 single malt scotch
  • 1/2 oz. orange juice
  • 1/2 oz. Luxardo cherry liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
Shake all ingredients on ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lightly singed orange peel.

  1. This looks absolutely incredible. Going to make this (probably with Laphroaig) for my NYE/ Housewarming party! I sure wish you lived closer- we'd have a blast bartending for this shindig.

  2. Rob, that's what I like to hear. I tossed the drink idea around to the bartenders at the best scotch bars in D.C. last night and they all agreed that it is a solid recipe for their favorite scotch cocktail.
